This beautiful spring is named for Juan Ponce de León, who led the first Spanish expedition to Florida in 1513-as legend has it-in search of the "fountain of youth." Visitors might well regain their youth by taking a dip in the cool, clear waters of Ponce de Leon Springs where the water temperature remains a constant 68 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The main spring is a convergence of two underground water flows, and produces 14 million gallons of water daily. Visitors can take a leisurely walk along two self-guided nature trails through a lush, hardwood forest and learn about the local ecology and wildlife. Rangers also conduct seasonal guided walks.

The Christian Homeschool Athletic Association (C.H.A.A. "SAINTS") is a professional physical education program presently serving home school families from Hollywood, FL to Vero Beach, FL. C.H.A.A.'s sole purpose is to provide homeschooled children all the benefits of an athletic curriculum under the guidelines of professional instructors. The curriculum has been written by Coach Rick "Mr. Rick" Andreassen and is approved by the A.C.S.I. (Association of Christian Schools International). Activities include: archery, baseball, softball, kite flying, Frisbee, T-ball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, track & field, flag football, golf, horseshoes, tennis, team sports, Presidential Fitness Challenge and more.

With eight galleries and a sculpture garden, visitors are sure to find something they like on exhibit at Polk Museum of Art. The rotating exhibition schedule offers a diverse array of visual options, from African or Asian art to contemporary art by national or regional artists. Downstairs, visitors enter into the Hollis Gallery. Major touring or Museum organized exhibitions will be found in the two large main galleries: the Dorothy Jenkins Gallery and the Emily S. Macey Gallery. Pre-Columbian works can be found on permanent display in the Taxdal Pre-Columbian Gallery, and artwork by elementary through high school students will be found in the George Jenkins Student Gallery. As you travel to the elevator or stairs, browse through the Perkins Gallery where you will often find one-person exhibitions on display. Upstairs galleries offer a more intimate venue for viewing art. The Ledger and Murray galleries are often combined to showcase rotating exhibitions of works from the Permanent Collection. In the Marks Gallery, you will find works from the Student Collection.

A new wave of pioneers is sweeping onto the home schooling trail. After decades of promises that the public school "system" holds the key to success, some African-American families are finding, like those of other ethnicities, that an increasingly centralized system and social decay are fast dissolving the bonds of their culture and families. And many have found a way to reconnect and restore those bonds by home schooling—an educational path so old and overgrown that it's considered radical and cutting edge.
